Stillen Exhaust... How's it sound?
#1
I'm in kind of a stump.. My car currently has the stock exhaust on. I'm getting the stillen kit soon but I think the stock exhaust will look stupid with the kit on. But I really don't want my car to be loud.. unless it's under WOT or similar conditions. Will adding just the stillen exhaust (I dont believe it's catback? or is it?) with the rest of the exhaust being stock, be really loud? Will I have an annoying drone cruising down the parkway, or driving around town?

it will sound stock at idle and will be quiet as long as you accellerate slowly. its loudest is at 2.5k and after that it will get quiet again. only gets loud at accellerating. you will hear a humm while on the highway (75-80 mph). if you are carrying a heavy load or if the car is packed with prople, then it can get pretty loud driving around

Greg Prete has done alot of research on the Maxima exhaust. It comes down to the muffler, if you replace it your car will get loud and annoying. If you replace the B-pipe and Y-pipe the car will still stay quiet...muffler is the key.
