VSS...Auto - 5 Speed Swap...HELP

I got all wiring taken care of. I have everything taken off the Auto tranny and I have a couple questions. What do I do with this sensor? (shown below)

and what does it plug into on the manual tranny or what do I have to wire from this sensor to make everything work like its supposed to??

Thanks,

Matt

What exactly are you looking for?

I already answered your question 3 hours ago in one of the other three identical threads that you have on the go.

Im looking for a SURE answer, not a maybe or something for the 4th gen....Ive learned throughout this swap that its different between the 2. Enough to where Hal's write up is only good for what to do when. Wiring is different, pedal install is different, pretty much everything is different, including this speed sensor deal.....

Yes, I have an A32 chassis. However, my engine, ecu, gauge cluster and all the associated wiring for those items are from an A33B (02/03 maxima)

Specifically, my wiring for the speed sensor had to duplicate what is used in an 00/01 with TCS. This was a requirement because the speed signal on an 02/03 comes from the ABS module which I do not have.

If you have indeed looked at and understand the wiring diagrams in the FSMs for A32 and A33, what I have told you in your other thread in the all motor forum should be obvious.

Its been rather annoying posting so many of the same threads tryin to get at least one response and days and days of nothing when Im pretty much done with the swap....know what I mean?? I dont even know what else I need for the 5 speed to make the speedo and all work....so please man...walk me through it...lol.....

i'm pretty sure that sensor goes into the tranny. Isn't that the Park Neutral sensor. I could be wrong sorry.

If you said something about the speed sensor... our speed sensors is with the abs sensor. No speed sensor in the transmission

It's the speed sensor. I've had to replace mine because the plastic plug on it broke during my engine swap. I don't believe you need it for the manual tranny. try unplugging it and seeing if you get a CEL.

I just realized, I had the TCS/no-TCS configurations transposed in my post in your all-motor thread.

It is the vehicles without TCS that get the speed signal from the ABS control module. You are in the clear.

Although wiring the sensor as I suggested would have worked fine, it would have meant some unecessary wiring.

That connector connected to the AT VSS (pictured above) can be left unused as it is just wired back to the TCM, which is no longer in use. The VSS sensor on the manual tranny does not need to be connected to anything.

My apologies for the confusion.

it's not the speed sensor. The speed sensor is along with abs sensor.

Uh, no. It's the speed sensor for an auto tranny. I replaced one. It plugs into the top of the tranny next to the fender wall and, when the tranny in installed, it can only be easily accessed from under the car. The part costs roughly $85 from the dealership. Need any more proof that I know what it is?

maybe i'm thinking of something else, because when i was doing my swap, turbo95max was trying to figure out where the speed sensor was and we found out that the speed sensor was located with the ABS sensor.
