The Ring!

Since people wanna know where the darn thing ended up, here it goes. Tuesday night at 2AM, After 5 days and nights of searching, I finally got the cooling unit out and got access to the heating core and still didn't see it. At this point as I was cussing and yelling in the garage I made one last reach and felt something smooth, and round! It was stuck in the tiniest least accessable spot imaginable! between the bottom of the core and the housing unit! about 2mm space! Unfreakingbelievable that it would go there! I sat there in the bare car on the floor, no seats even at this point, and looked at the thing for fifteen minutes. Took a long time to put my car back together, about eight hours! Then refilled the coolant and recharged the AC. My mechanic offered me a job and said I gotta tell you I didn't think you would pull it off. Disconnecting and reconnecting the heating hoses at the firewall was the hardest of all. also came up with five extra little screws at the end (doesn't that make my car more efficent?), and everything still works!
Thanks for the help

CONGRATS!!!!!!!

I would have been going crazy for a 500.00 ring.. I cant possibly imagine how I would get with a 15000.00 ring!!

I now know who to call if my girl ever does that to me!

Congrats on finding the ring. Please don't take the drama of the other thread as the majority.... those are just the loadest.
There are some great people here and very helpful. So please come back.
Also, would love to know the status of the girl friend or future wife.

Amazing. Good job!

And don't worry about all those naysayers re: the girl. **** happens, people fight. It's waht happens after that matters.

Years ago, my wife and I (can't remember if we were married, I don't think we were) went out very late with two friends of ours who were engaged. I think we got home around 5 or 6 am. Next day, we had to go somewhere around 9 am. (boy did we feel like crap)We drove past our friends' house on the way , and we see them both outside raking leaves and doing yard work. My wife and I were like"wtf? how can they get up and do yard work today. wow." My wife sees the guy a few days later, and he says after they went home that night, they had a huge fight, and the girl threw her ring on the front lawn. It too them all day to find it. We had a good laugh about that.

8 years later, they're still married and happy.

I'm glad you finally found the ring. I was following the other thread until it became a mess...

I would say depending how sorry your girl feels about the whole thing... It's ultimately your call but if my gf (now my wife) did that I would have some serious thoughts...

Good luck!

NICE! Glad you found it! I'm sure things will improve. My gf and I have been together on and off for the past year, and we still have "disagreements" periodically... It takes work to make it work!

The whole thing was a freak accident and probably my fault anyways. At least we'll have a story to tell for years!

Nice job on the recovery. Must say though this is just another case of why I don't understand why women spend that kind of money on something like that, that's going to go down the defrost...

I still say dump her. She's got anger management issues that are just going to get worse over time. Next thing you'll be looking for in your defroster is your ***** when she bobbits you after an arguement one night. Take the ring and use the money to date other women with. You'll thank me in the long run.

Wow, I just got done reading that roller coaster thread that prefaced this one, I have to say good work! You must have quite a few hours into that search. Glad to hear you didn't have to hack anything up to find it.
