I am on a quest. I have a few scratches on my winshield, and I also want to remove the last coat of RainX I put on last month. I had a bottle of glass polish for car windshields, but have since run out. I have tried all the local Pep Boys and Track Auto to no avail. Does anybody know where I can get some? I called a few glass shops, and since they don't buff out scratches anymore, they don't have it. This is really starting to bug me. RainX sells it, but no shop in town has it and the distributor wants to sell it by the case.

Zaino makes a glass polish that I use about once a month. Does a great job cleaning and removing gunk buildup, but I've never tried it on scratches. It's a pretty mild abrasive, with a buffer it should get out fine scratches ok. Shing had some problem buildup that he couldn't get removed from his car so I sent him a sample of this stuff and he said it worked great.

Do you have SafeLite AutoGlass in your area? Around here they are pretty good for chips and scratches, they do pretty good repars cheaper than body shops.

YES!!! That stuff works great! When I first got the CRX, there was some stuff on the rear window that I couldn't get off for the life of me. This polish removed it right away... and it smells good too.

So where can I get some?

Is there some mail-order place I can get some. When i ask here they all look at me like I am crazy, then point me to the window cleaner section.

My Dad....

...used to use one of those Bon Ami bars to clean the windshield from gunk. I would think that something like alcohol and newspapers would do it to since the newspapers are pretty abrasive.

RainX seems pretty insistent on staying on once you put it on.

Shing...

did you need to use a buffer wit5h the Zaino stuff or does good old elbow grease get the job done also? I have a mark on my windshield that I've tried everything with (some sort of buildup) and nothing works...

I've tried using a razor blade but I'm not to keen on it...

I have removed a bit of it but Im not sure if it was due to the blade or Windex with Vinegar(green stuff they sell) and newspaper...

I aso want to get rid of a crappy job of Rainx I put on (old stuff, BIG mistake)
