All my friends are impressed with how fast my Maxima is, because they have never ridden in a 11 or 12 second car. So they go around telling people that my car is fast. Well anyway, I got another offer for $100. Don't laugh, it's a '63 impala SS with a 327. He is completely stock. Anyone know if these are fast? My friends say this kid is really stupid so I'm going to talk to him today and see how stupid he is. Would I have any problems beating this guy?

P.S. This is all really stupid and unmature, but I will do it on a closed strip and $100, is $100!

Do they make newer (94,95,96,) impala LT1s? I was behind a impala with daul exhaust and it had a LT1 badge. I am not that afraid of newer ones because they only run 0-60 in lower sevens and 1/4 in mid to upper 15s. I dont know about older ones

Yes, they made them with the Caprice body and they hauled ***. High 14s stock and there are thousands of easy and effective mods out there.

Re: wow~!~

You should not have a problem. Those cars weigh a ton, my grandfather had a 64 Impala, it weighs more than my condo, sounded real good though...hehe. Good luck!!!

No problem... 63 Impala is a boat, and after nearly 30 years, it's not gonna be as fast as the max. Muscle cars weren't as fast as you think, even new, they were just extreme in their days.

i dunno man....most of the muscle cars i seen at the truck running with roll cages...they not as slow as your perceive them to be....all i know is that they sure sound MEAN as he**

if he the impala is stock then you won't have any problems. if it's hooked up then i dunno.....

The dude is supposely all stock. I think he is just uninformed on what Maximas are capable of. And to Hatch: You can clearly see in my sig that I ran a 15.0. I was refering to 11 and 12 sec car saying my friends havent ridden in one. I guess that if a '95 Impala with a 350 runs a low 15, then a '63 with a 327 wouldnt be any faster, right?

A 63 Impala with a "stock" 327 will probably run in the 16s. I doubt his 63 is in great tune either seeing he's a younger guy.

FYI, the 94-96 LT1 Impala SS was good for 15.3-15.5@90mph stock. Definately quick for a 4200lb cocktail lounge. However, it's not as easy to run 14s in the Impala SS as many want you to believe. My last car was a 94 Z28 and I looked hard at getting an Impala SS because it was technically the same motor and many mods would carry over. I got involved in their forums and asked lots of questions. The truth is, most guys were running mid to lower 15s in their mildly modded Impala SSs. To go mid 14s in the SS, most guys need gears (3.42), chip to compensate for the gears, higher stall converter, catback, intake, headers, couple simple tweaks, and drag radials. By that time, you're about $4000 in mods.

If possible try to check under the hood ( ??? ) just a suggestion...
