It just seems that I'm seeing a lot of new names around here in the last couple weeks (a good thing) I wonder if the fast and furious opened people's eyes up a little to the maxima as a sports car. have we seen a rapid growth in members since the movie came out? I know the server is slower.

(this is not O.T. 'cause it's general maxima discussion)

In my case it had nothing to do with the movie. I just happened to be doing a search about the overdrive button (which I've noticed is asked about quite frequently here). I've always loved the Maxima. My wife gets mad at me for it, but what does she know? I traded my first car, a Ford Tempo given to me by my parents, for a 91 SE. It was that pretty pearl/beige color. Five speed, Bose, leather, etc. To make a long story short, I totaled it before I could even wash it the first time. I had it for about 3 1/2 weeks. It was through no fault of my own, however. Then my wife suckered me into buying a Saturn, boy was that a mistake. Good car, don't get me wrong, but you don't go from a Maxima to a Saturn. Things just don't work that way. Less than a year later I traded it for a 93 GXE. It stood well by me, until I wanted the new body style. I traded up to a 95 GXE, and a 1 1/2 later, I was itching for a 5 speed and sport suspension again so I traded up for a 97 SE. 29K miles later I have since traded for a 97 Auto (again to please the wife). This one still is a step up from the 97 5 speed as it has Bose, a remote, and an alarm. I think I'll hold on to this one until I can be in a position to buy the new 260 hp Maxima. I haven't broken that one to the old ball and chain yet. Now that's gonna be fun to drive. So I guess you can say I've owned my share of my Maxima's. 5 in the last 5 years. (91, 93, 95, 97, 97). I am glad I've found this site and learning all the cool things that be done to the Maxima!

I doubt it, many of my friends didn't even notice that maxima in the movie.

It's all the talk of the new 2002 Maxima

Every car club forum is talking about the new Maxima and the Altima. So they come over to this forum to see the real deal for themselves. See the buzz got around and they fear us! It's good to see new members supporting this site. Welcome newbies! Now get your wallets out and do some mods!

Only if the newbies knew what we knew then it will be worth the extra $$$$. Now if that guy redmax stop posting then our server will speed up by 20%. I think we have to have Jambo make up a new title called posting ****** for them.

you guys are crazy!

ha. i'd been addicted to the legend forums in anticipation of me coppin a g2 ac legend coupe this summer.

then i got downsized.

fortunately, my parents said i can take one of their maximas back to school with me in august. ive always known that it has tremendous potential....now i get to capitalize on that.

already got the stillen kit on order...cant wait to pick it up. also scheduled my tint job for the day i drive back down to school.

true....so true. well, i'll be picking up the kit the morning i leave for school (as soon as i am a safe distance from my parents ) and will be making the pitstop in new jeruz to get the tints. once i get down to school, there should be a place racing intake adn jvc cd/mp3 headunit waiting for me. im gonna get neons put in during orientation week too.

since you have (what looks like) a 99 se limited (my parents have a red 99 se-l too ), will the stillen kit look stupid without lowering the car? i'll be putting it on a mint condition 97 super black SE. i'll be riding on the 16 inchers for a while too.

thanks for any input, -v-
