Retrofit in planning
All you need to make the harness is the wiring diagram... HID Planet has the diagrams you need in the forums. I actually just picked up 02/03 headlights, but I'll have to do some rewiring on my harness to make it work for them...

Now I have an extra set of bulbs...not sure what I'm going to do with it. I believe both are Osram 4300k rating.
Can't wait to work on them, but I'm kind of scared haha. And I'm still trying to figure out how to make the harness...still kind of confused. hopefully I"ll figure it out soon enough.

Once you have all the stuff you can really get started.
Pull the lenses off the housings as soon as you can - then it'll become a whole lot clearer. Start test-fitting, making marks, etc. The whole "measure twice, cut once" rule REALLY applies here.
Good luck with everything...I'm about 75% done with my 2nd TSX projector retrofit. Just did some final JB Welding on the mounting points this morning and now I need to figure out a shroud and I'll be done with those.
Cool, yeah, I got that picture too. But a few questions hopefully you guys can answer:
1. Any specific kinda of diode to get? I'm not sure if there are ratings or numbers on the diodes.
2. Where can I buy the complete relays? I've been to Advanced Auto and Radio Shack, and the only kinds of relays they sell just have pins on them...no wires or anything. Or is that how it's supposed to be?
3. What other materials will I need to buy? Things like JB Weld, and washers [for the color mod].
I'll def remember the "measure twice cut once" rule. Thanks

As for #3, though, I can provide some input.
JB Weld is pretty useful, at least for making sure your nuts/washers don't move once you have 'em where you want 'em. Though, for something a little less permanent, you could also use thread-locker and/or nylock nuts and/or lock washers. I'm also pretty partial to my "Automotive Goop" contact adhesive/sealant. It's been invaluable in setting up back-of-the-headlight sealing and in mounting my shrouds.
Other things...depending on how you do mounting...assorted springs to create tension between the projector and the headlight. Nuts, washers, LONG screws. Depending on whether you want to do a shroud or not, you could go ahead and pick up some range covers, pipe flanges, etc. to experiment with.
I've also had some luck with using "aviation snips" (hardcore version of tin snips) to cut metal things such as range covers. Also 3M painter's tape can be helpful in covering up things you want to protect and of course in masking off areas you don't want to paint (should you go down that road).
Last but not least, a level, or a laser level can be invaluable in figuring out whether you've got the rotation right on your projectors.
That's all I can think of now. Oh, and #8 screws fit the holes on the TSX projectors perfectly.
^ Amen to the level! I love the output of my E55 projectors, but the bottom isn't perfectly level, so the projector must be at an angle to produce a level cutoff, which I'm having a hell of a time perfecting.
Nice.
Can anyone answer my first two questions?

^ To answer your question, I wouldn't use diodes, IMHO. All relays will have 4-5 pins on the bottom (ground, 12V source, 1 or 2 12V out, and trigger). You can buy a relay harness "seat" to plug the relay into that will have wires coming out of it for you. Check out Parts Express. They'll have everything you need, including a dual-relay socket and cheap realays.
I'm bored, so here you go:
Relay
Relay Socket
I'd also use split loom to cover the wiring up, as well as pick up some generic 12 gauge (I think that's what I used) automotive wiring at Wal-Mart (cheapest place I found it, PE is more expensive). Don't forget an in-line fuse on the battery connection, as well.

WOOT! Received the projectors today from Mike! Now all I need are harness parts and the guts to take apart new headlight housing and I'm set! haha yes, I'm still scared to.
I guess I'll just order the $0.15 diode from parts express. Hope it's alright.

Fellow Maxima.org members, I am WAY late on this trend of retrofitting a maxima with HID ligths. I have been contemplating looking into a way to get HIDs for my car, but just recently realized I was already behind!
I would like to get a set built for my 99 Maxima, but do not think I could do it by myself and not mess up $100 worth of light housing! So I would like to contract someone to build it for me, with me supplying the parts. If anyone knows someone that could do it for me (and not for my arm and leg) let me know. I will pay for the person's labor, and supply whatever parts I need to get the HID set built for my car. If they are on the east coast, I would also possibly drive to their location and let them put them in for me. Someone please help a fellow Maxima lover get his car up to date and looking swift!
