Hey fellas, I'm new. But you folks know alot about these things. What's the deal with a summons in NYC? How come you have to go to criminal court in Manhattan even to plead guilty? I think they use the term summons for everything, like parking or jaywalking too, is that correct? Thanks. I got mine on foot.

 

Legally, all 'tickets' are summons or citiations. NYC calls them summons.
