There is this guy in my town who used to work on military missiles and stuff. Now he does cars, people from all the east coast come to him about making their rides faster. We talked about putting turbo in my max, and he says he can do it. We are starting by making custom furbished turbo manifolds, and where to position the piping, then it is very easy he says. This guy is absoultley credible, he made a del sol 400hp. We were talking about a single turbo kit, with an Apexi Super AFC and Boost Controller, and says i can get about 12 psi of boost at the max and 100hp !! I cant wait till we get started, it will run me about 3-3500, and it will be much better than a supercharger !!

He's probably gonna use whats left of the molten mess of aluminum when you blow your engine running 12 psi to make some missles.

I don't know how comfortable I would be running 12psi on stock internals, but I am courious as to the work he'll do for you.If you go ahead with it, take some pics!!!

yeah.. the turbo setup is 3000 .. call EIP in MD and ask them.. you know how much the final cost is when you want to get what you want to handle the TURBO?

over 12000 dollars

Rods
Pistons
Crank
Head Gasket
Injectors
ECU
Engine Management
AFC
AVR
Boost Controler
Boost Gauge
Oil Cooler
Tranny Cooler
FP Gauge
Fuel Pump
New Tranny
Intercooler
Piping
Turbo

N.B. this isn't everything.. thats just to give you an idea

Oh yeah it adds up.. adding a turbo on a car is not as easy as every one thinks.. Its not a 1.8T where you can just turn the boost up..

Their is a cheaper way .. but i ain't talking

That cheaper way wouldn't happen to be in a blue bottle in your trunk would it?

It's a supercharger, like I suggested before. All the power of a turbo for a 1/3 of the cost.

And as much as I hate to say it, $4k for Stillens SC isn't bad compared to other kits. Dinans M5 supercharger is $12k, uses the same V2 Vortech blower, and they have had problems with them as well.........

no one has mentioned the fact that your auto tranny wont stand up against that 12psi either. Wait I take that back it might last a few weeks. So thats extra $$$ to rebuild that

You 'buff up' your tranny beforeyou start. The bigger issue with the turbo is that our compression is already at 10, so boosting levels are limited.

This guy is called "The Fabricator" and he does custom metal fabrication etc. You should see his setup in this shop, there was a 500grand probe in there, this guy who drove all the way from Georgia to get his Eclipse worked on, etc. etc. We just talked briefly about installing the turbo, just enough to not have to replace my pistons etc, We talked about how to do it without all that other work, so my car could handle it. Im going to be calling him on Monday to find out if he really CAN do it and if its safe, he told me to give him a few days to research. I talked to a few people about the Stillen S/C, and they told me to come see this guy first, to weigh my options and to see if there are any others. The turbo would outlast the s/c i can tell you right now, and its different then a supercharger because its not really running, or working by itself like the S/C does.

Some boost guages, and I would probably upgrade my fuel pump to a bigger pump.

It's not about beefing up internals.
It's all about engine management. You need some sort of management to get that power. You will never get it with bandaids like the afc. You need DFI, haltech, speed pro or motec, etc.....

man, pretty soon we are gonna have more boosted maxima here than unboosted. So did you figure out how to get the loan???? I told you it's no big deal. Although if this guy has connection you could talk to him about the "T" swap. I don't know why everyone is so secretive about this.
