train horns good or bad

Normally im not the type of guy to do something to freak people out just get a laugh but i had this website saved in my fav's for a while nowhttp://www.Hornblasters.com and each time i watch the new vidz that they post it get funnier and funnier. Now heres the bad side. 1. I have slight road rage especially when i see people takin their sweet'ol time crossing the street, tailgaters,no disrespect to any of the women on this website,YOU GO GURLZ But women oversized s.u.v's
who think they own the road. and people on their cell phones who give YOU a dirty look when THEY do something wrong. Now the fun side all the people listed above the look on their faces when you lay on that horn will absolutely priceless So let know what ya think good or bad p.s. please ... no flaming

First thing I would get if I had an excess of money...

Honestly I'd be more happy about other drivers being more ready to get out of your way than scaring pedestrians, but whatever floats your boat...

P.S. post videos.

Why not just get regular airhorns they are cheaper. But I understand what you mean on the road rage.

Those things are pretty funny, but Id never actually invest the money in the. Totally waste of cash, and there not cheap.

I would love some train horns. I dont know about you guys, but I only use my horn if it is absolutely necessary, cause most of the time if someone pisses me off, I just get next to them and , so, if I do use it, I would love to see the reaction on their faces. Maybe, just maybe, they'd put down their cellphone....

ps. I've always wanted one of those police "whoop whoop" sounds, not the lights or siren, just the sound when they make to get someones attention w/o the full fledged siren.

First thing I told my wife the other day when the teenybopper skateboarders wouldn't move out of the way in the parking lot..."Wish I had a train horn!"
She said that's ridiculous and I couldn't have one...I said you can't have credit cards, and I'll buy one if I want

I won't lie, first time I saw those videos I wanted a set. The price is just way too high to justify for me though. I have a set of hella's that make people jump when I honk, so that will have to be good enough for now. There are many times I wish I had train horns though. HONK!

I just watched the video's, and the one with the cop checking the turn signals in front was absolutely hilarious. I really want one, but the one I want is $1700, but I'd settle for the 588 conductors special. Awsome idea, good post!

Yeah it was that was one **** cop im gonna check over at the truckstop in burlington nj first too see if they may have some at the chrome shop they have.... To answer your question gtr2000 i never really like the sound of airhorns...Dko thats another thing that i'm afraid of getting sued. But whats tempting even more, there a set railroad tracks bout a 1/4 maybe a mile away from my house, people have to cross the tracks to get to the station if i could BLAST them while im gracefully haulin @$$ cross the track while the camera's rollin that be perfect.... as a matter of fact that freight train just went by lol

Hhhoooooooooonnnnkkkkkkkkk

I got me a train horn, Heres a pic, the black stuff is a coating to protect the diaphrams, i had this on my 91 sentra for a long time, It sounds just like a train, I measured 164dB at 10 feet , its pretty deep sounding also. I got it off a old run down crane out in the woods that was once used to dig coal, this thing will scare the crap out of ppl and make you laugh so hard.

also check ebay, pretty cheap,

and go to youtube and watch this, its CRAZY! first honk is the truck, second one is the boat

How did you hook it up? Did it require a compressor or anything?

I ghetto hooked it up , i used a 7 gal tank with 120 psi , air hose, and a lanyard<valve to let the air into the horn> I want to get a compressor and tank with the correct electric solenoid so i can just use it off the horn button, however with the lanyard its like a chain in a truck and you can control the sound with it

+1 to that.

this f*cker thought it would be funny to honk his train horns at me while he was next to me at a light. i was drinking my coffee, i nearly spilled the whole damn cup onto my lap. and mind you, that would NOT feel good having burning liquid in your lap! i wanted to walk out and beat the sh*t out of him with my tennis racket that was sitting in my passenger seat. f*cking high schoolers....

unfortunatly my steering rack took a dump on me but while im under there i'll be looking for a place to mount the horns i'd like to mount them behind the grill and paint them black. i have'nt made it to the truckstop yet to see if they have them at a cheaper price. My wife wants one now cause she's coming across more and more rude people. lol
