To those with Hawk Pads

So on average how long does it take to see brake dust with these puppies.

I have pos pads and i get extreme build up in 5 or so days of daily driving.

My car stays cleaner longer than the damn wheels.

It depends how hard you brake. If you're like to brake late like me-then it usually takes about 10 to 12 days to look like this Back wheel

In daily Houston traffic, within a week i notice some dust but it takes about 2-3 before it gets really noticable from a distance.

Although, i also noticed that rim design has a lot to do with it. My old ASA AR1's had obvious brake dust within just a few days. Open-spoke designs seems to fare better.

If you drive like a mad-man and have tire shine all over the tires, then expect to see dust in about ONE DAY, but if you drive like a normal person and have no tire shine, then expect quite a few days. I just keep up with my car washes and don't really worry about it that much, even though after I see brake dust the day after I washed it pisses me off!

I had HP Plus pads, and they got my gold rims dirty in 3days. 1wk was caked. I ended up keeping a painting brush in my trunk, and every time i waited for the gas pump to finish, i'd dust off the wheels. People looked at my funny, haha.

i drive the car hard, and my HPS dust alot. Like my biggest concern is dirty wheels, and i always have tire shine on, i do detailing so i gotta have a clean car. id say within 1-2 days ive got a nice coating. sometimes even after 1 good day of driving i got a nice coating of brake dust. It sucks but its a small price to pay for the difference

Mine is about a week or so. I do hate trying to brake when its cold. It needs to warm up a bit.

Usually about 4-5 days driving u can begin to see build up.

If you have painted wheels wax them real good and the dust come right off when cleaning.
