any tips on painting car yourself with aircompressed paint gun?
I recently bought a winter beater ('97 civic hatch) and I am in the process of removing rust and prepping/priming it for paint. I want to paint the car myself with my air compressor and paint gun.
Does anyone have any tips on how to paint a car using a aircompressed paint gun? Any good tutorial sites?
Thanks

What size compressor do you have?
I would not even attempt it with anything less then a 20 gallon if you are doing the whole car. The gun needs sufficient and continuous pressure to atomize the paint.
Hopefully you are not using a Wagner power painter type setup.
Like the others have said, practice on scrap metal or even a piece of plywood.
You want to keep the gun pointed straight on and do not twist the gun as you are moving. If you twist the sprayer it will cause more runs.
Also make sure you cover everything in plastic that you do not want overspray on, there WILL be overspray if you are not in a good booth.
