news update: me and my friend ran 0-80km/h tonight side by side with his automagic civic LX, I brake torqued to 1700 and spin off the line till like 10km. He doens't know how to brake torque. he thinks that rolling gives him an advantage, so he was rolling @ like 2km/h 1/2 car in front of me when we started, off we go, 0-30km/h was a tie, I caught up that 1/2 car when I was going 10km/h, at like high 3000s rpm I started pulling fast, by 70 I was abt 1.5 to 2 cars ahead of him. so is my automagic maxima normal? or I should have got like 5 cars on him?

hmmm Malibu V6 with what 175 or 180hp just over 3000lbs... a sweet auto... it is a good match to a max auto... i've heard 0-60s in 8.0 easy... i've driven one and it has plenty of power... it sounds gruff at higher rpms but it does pull...
and the Cavalier/Sunfires... my sis drives a '99 2.2 and well it barks like a dog with a bad cough... but it does move... and the 2.4 is pretty fast 7.8-7.9 stock... and you can get turbos and NOS for it too... as well as all the usual mods...
and domestics that i would buy? I would go with an F body if i had a second car... and i was gona buy a '99 Cadillac STS... a black one put 19" Lowenhart anthracite rims... bad *** and 0-60 in less than 6.5 easy... but the $$$$ were a lil bit higher than the max haha... and a Malibu? GMs John Moss dropped in a 3.4L and tuned it and gets 0-60s in low 6s... and a SC version wil drop sub 6s easy... it would be an interesting sleeper.

You air filter should be changed when it gets dirty. Now that Maxus is over, I can truely say that weight and the stock valvebody on the tranny is the issue. This thing doesn't shift fast enough.

 

I got 1/2 car on that sunfire, I didn't lose any distance, dunno what you're talkin abt
