Universal Transceiver (or whatever you call it)?

Just wondering how useful/convenient/practical it was.

I use it, it frees up room in my armrest storage compartment, by me not having to keep a garage door opener there.

I use the Homelink to open my Garage. I have two spare buttons that I can program. I have the remote to my House's security system but ADT said that I will not be able to program the car to arm or disarm the security system. I haven't tried to program the home link but I surely would like it if I could program the thing to atleast disarm the security system of the house.

I do. It's much cheaper than buying another transmitter from sear's

Homelink is very convenient I use one button for my garage, one for my Girlfriend's house and one for my brothers. The only drawback is you can't take your garage door opener out of your car if you park outside

We first used the Homelink in a 97 GLE and now do it with the 2k SE. It is convenient. We keep the old remote inside the house and use to open and close the garage from inside. I wouldn't buy it as a separate stand alone option but it nice to not worry about where the remote fell when I took a turn too fast.

nope

I don't use it, don't have any HomeLink devices.

I thought about hacking it to see if I could wire the buttons to other things... but haven't tried it yet. Has anyone else hacked these?

I use it all the time

I'm glad I have it or else I'd need to buy another transmitter for my home. Plus it's really convienent when I go to my friends' places that each have a remote operated gate.
