I mean I understand.....
the laws and all but this is a good example of "How to be an ******* of a Cop with Nothing Better to Do"....I mean come on a roadblock...get ****ing real, do some REAL law enforcement for once instead of harrasing people!
how about they do a roadblock every now and then after drunks leave the bars in and go drunk driving...these asses are so busy harrasing importers for blue signals and suspension, while drunk Joe Blo runs an innocent family off the road....see what happens when Dunkin' Donuts closes early....LOSERS!

Shoot, I would suggest everyone to challenge their tickets...lets see how happy the courts will be then.

I remember reading in SCC how the CHP had set up a road block in front of the Ponoma raceway or something and did the same thing. Some tickets were dropped b/c it was found that it was done in wrongful manner. Bogus, yes...possible definetly...
I hope the event organizers do something about it or I doubt anyone will show up next year. I been to several car shows where the cops came in and drove through. They just came in to check out what was going on, but I never saw them stop and start writing citations. It sounds to me like someone needed some extra cash and planned this well in advance to get some.
It is BS that they staked out a car show, but I have no problems with them issuing tickets for expired tags, expired inspection stickers, clear taillights, colored bulbs, or no front plate. You've got to keep your registrations up to date to drive and I think clear taillights and colored bulbs are very dangerous. When you modify your brake lights so that they are barely visible from 50 feet and look pink, I've got a problem with that. Colored bulbs are bad too. I've got a friend who has red bulbs in his cornering lamps. Tell me that's not unsafe? I bust his chops all the time.
The reason extreme lowering is illegal is because it changes the crash dynamics of the car (ie the bumper height is off). You know why Honda isn't bringing the Civic Type R to the States? Because they can't justify the 2 million dollars it takes to get the Civic Type R certified for US use (straight from Hondas mouth). Since the Civic Type R is dramatically lower than the regular Civic, it must have it's seperate crash certification. Since the CTR would go for 20K in the US, the profit ratio to certification couldn't be justified. The ITR was put under the same certification. Since the ITR is much more expensive (profitable), especially the upcoming RSX-R, Honda says they can justify it.
Personally I think Honda would sell a hell of a lot more CTRs than they would RSX-Rs. What do you think?

I'm not sure how it works in the US .. but here in Toronto .. if a POPO pulls u over 4 illegal mods such as lowered suspension ... ask 2 c a license that he is a registered/certified mechanic ... if they do not possess such a thing .. then they are not qualified to make such a claim ... unless of course it's blatant ... e.g. exhaust is simply not there

there will always be good cops, bad cops, cops who have noting else better to do or have way too much free time on their hands. example, i got pulled over for having blue tinted hyper white turn signals. 70 dollar ticket to which this day i still have not paid and not going to cause in my personal opinion it is bs. and why do i consider this bs? because about a week later after i got this ticket, i was driving to my friend's house and a cop was behind me and i just happen to go his way (a way that has 2 or 3 turns to where i need to get to my destination) and i signaled many times but he did not even pull me over so finally when he stopped i got next time him and blantly asked him why he did not pull me over for my signals. he said he doesn't care and have better things to do (probably meaning it is not a high priority offense, compared to other stuff...robbery, killing, rape, etc). i asked him why did the other cop pull me over then. he told me he just probably had not else better to do and told me to go to court seeing how the judge will probably drop the case seeing how its so minor. i did this another time with another cop when i asked him about fog lights, if they are illegal to have on and he told it depends on the cop you run into. long...yes and sorry but venting. i just think the cops need to go harrass the rapists, killers, etc...who are really hurting socity but cars enthusiasts? come on!
