The reason the Civic Type R isn't coming to the States
Why Honda isn't bringing the Civic Type R to the States? Because they can't justify the 2 million dollars it takes to get the Civic Type R certified for US use (straight from Honda's mouth). Since the Civic Type R is dramatically lower than the regular Civic, it must have it's seperate crash certification. Since the CTR would go for 20K (max) in the US, the profit ratio to certification couldn't be justified. The ITR was put under the same certification. Since the ITR is much more expensive (profitable), especially the upcoming RSX-R, Honda says they can justify it.
Personally I think Honda would sell a hell of a lot more CTRs than they would RSX-Rs. What do you think?

The link is a european review of the Type-R, but I don't think they would have a problem selling the car if it was 20K. I think more would buy it then the RSX, but as for me the car is not my style.
