Hi guys, one of my friends is trying to buy my car as is. Right now I'm in a bit of a predicament anyways because my car does not fit in the garage of my new place. I've seriously thought of selling him mine and buying another stock Maxima SE 5Spd (and leaving it stock for a while to save some money). What do you think is a reasonable price to sell it for. I have over $8500 in retail value worth of mods. The car is a fully loaded 97 SE 5Spd with 61K miles.

Also I might be needing to buy a small cheap pickup truck in the near future to handle some work I'll be doing, so the extra money might come in handy. What do you think my options are for parting out and selling stock? This car is in pristine condition for a 97.

Sucks you have to sell such a nice car. Depends on what your needs are at this time. Money wise Parting out will get you the most money back. If your hurting for money part it out, if not hook your buddy up with a nice max at a reasonable price. If you figure out you want to part out your car.... I want First DIBS on the Y pipe

Typically you take the blue book value of the car and add half of what the other mods are worth and try for that. When that don't work you take what you can get. Also it depends on how long each mod has been on the car and the mod it self.

Right thanks mod'n

I got the car in October and didn't start modding until December (suspension, exhaust, ypipe). Rims in May, Kit in June, RT Cat in July. It's been quite progressive since December, 2000.

tight car - can get good price

greetings,

This car is off the hook. The modifications, addons and the good care this car got only makes it a stronger buy.

The kbb prices this car at about $13,500. However, 1997 nissan maximas which this low milage sell for over $15,000 on any large online auto store. You can easily addon $5,000 of addons that were made to this car to make it look hotter, drive faster, and feel better.

So if you can find a serious buyer that also appreciates the worth of this car, you can get a good bargain.

Good luck...

Yeah this would be the easiest thing for me. I don't know if I have the time to remove parts. If I could just dump it out and pick up a stock I30 or something that'd be nice. I'd also considering trading a Max or I30 and cash or something.

Unless you sell to another enthusiast, you'll never get what the car is worth with mods.

For money, the best bet is to sell parts off the car.
For ease to you, find someone who want the car with the parts and is willing to pay a little more.

Consider selling the mods that aren't too much of a hassle and worth the time to remove.
I would say most of the mods could be taken off in a full day, since you know how to do everything now. The second time around is much easier.

If you are seriously considering parting out the car, I will give you a fair price on the stillen RSB. It's a hard decision that you have to make.

stop all this crazy talk brian... you may not sell it because you know the car is worth more to you than the money you can get for it... go test drive a stock maxima and you'll realize how much you take your mods for granted.

Dont sell it, what will you gain? other than the opportunity to put alot of money into another car. Unless the car has problems, it looks too nice to sell, and wont fetch the value it should be.

You're never going to get the $8500 you put into it back by selling it intact. Sad but true. The only way to get the money back is to part it out, else you're going to take a big hit when you trade it for a stock 97. Your car is beautiful man, it's worth keeping. Just buy an old crappy truck if you really need one, you'll be glad you kept your Maxima every time you drive it.

OMG..Not another fallen soldier, is it?
Anyhow. You know my opinion. www.ebay.com to get rid of mods and then sell the car stock. I can help in anyway I can but what is your next vehicle? That STS finally got you? 530i? What is it?

throw it in a friends garage for a few months, or buy a car cover and camp it in the driveway. Then buy a beater truck to use for work, etc. Then when thats all over with sell the truck and buy some more mods for the max
