I was wondering do you guys really believe that the auto powertrain loses 40-45hp from the flywheel? given the fact that stock 95-99 maxima auto's put down around 145-153hp that would seem like alot of lost power. Even though the 1/4 hp calculators aren't very accurate they do even a general idea. When I dynoed my car with CAI it put down 123hp so given the same 40hp loss in the auto I should be around 163hp at the flywheel. Which is 11hp over stock 152hp rating. I guess the only way to get a good reading in an auto is by having the TC locked up. Unfortunatly we don't know if the TC is in lock up at WOT. This could be one of the reasons why a 1st or 2nd gear dyno in an auto has less power than 3rd gear. Check out the link below also.

There is no set number... it doesn't lose "40hp"... more like a %, say 20-25%. If you use a percentage, then it makes more sense in your case, cause maybe your motor was stronger from the factory. But I think my car dyno's 152 stock... and something liek 170 after mods...
