I don't see why you would be looking at ANY of the cars you listed, except for maybe the Audi if you are not looking for a car to mod. Those cars are cosidered sporty cars, if you don't want mods, the Integra, Civic or the Prelude are not much of cars, unless you are condering them for things like reliability/looks/handling/fuel economy etc.. and I don't think that is why you would pick those, unless, you want a fast out-of-the-box car....

If you want SAFETY, Volvos are supposed to be like the safest cars out there, also, I heard the Ford Taurus/Mercury Sable is rated high... Cars like Honda Accord, Toyota Camry are also safe.... Large SUVs like Expedition... u get the point....

I think you need to look for longer then just 2 days or so to find a nice car you want. I am looking for a 4th gen Max right now myself, but I'm considering other cars aswell. Just give it time, people spend weeks and even months looking for the car they want.

where is here?

let me give you a few tips..

http://www.autotrader.com <--- usually has 2 or more 5spds in EVERY area..

http://www.yahoo.com <--- check their auto classifieds.. they usually have 5 or more 5spds..

Call your all local dealerships.. even if you don't see it in their inventory.. they might have one thats not pass through inspection yet.. tell the sales person all you want is a 5spd and nothing more..

Look at some of the used car dealerships on Autotrader and Yahoo that have AUTO Maxima's and call them up and ask them if they have any 5spd Maxima's or might be able to locate one.. some dealerships work with other dealerships and will be able to have one sent there..

Find a 5spd takes work.. but it can be done.. browsing through a couple clippings in the news paper and a couple searches will not find you a 5spd.. its going to take alot of phone calls but you can find one..

Two other members here have told me they can't find 5spds and within 1 hour i found 7 or more on EACH occasion.. now i am not going to keep doing that for you people.. you will have to start doing that **** on your own

The Audi A4 will help you in preventing accidents with AWD. I think that would be cool. Also try and look at Subaru Impreza 2.5rs's, those are relatively cheap and once again feature AWD, a feature I'd try and shoot for if I wanted safety.

out of those choices I would get the A4.
it's more comfortable than a max and probably more safer with AWD.

what about acura Tl? fully loaded 29,999, probably can get it down to 28500.

used bmw 3 series, some are less than 30k.

You can get in a wreck with any car you drive even without mods. Your friend is the one who pushed your car beyond its limits. You knew he was going to lose it because you told him to back off. You knew the limitations of your car. He was not as familiar I am quessing. Anyways performance mods are not the total blame. Suspension mods are a must for any car IMHo. Better handling and more control is always safer. Anyways it happened and you can not go back. A car you might want to look for would be an Acura Legend Coupe. Mid 90's before the CL came out.
Any of the other cars on your list you will end up modding, because you will hang out in the forums. You might as well get another Maxima or just wait for the new Altima.

Sorry, pal. You can't afford to be that picky if you're on a tight schedule. You either have to be lucky or be patient. The only other option is to settle for something that isn't exactly what you want. I wanted the same car you described. I found a killer deal on it in Black Emerald with a tan interior. Those are the breaks when it comes to used cars.

A4

Go with another Maxima...my friend has an A4, and he and I agree that quattro is very overrated. Sure, it might help when you are launching, but he says that his stock A4 is *miserable* in the rain. He sees absolutely no indication that quattro even exists on his car.

In addition, AWD doesn't help that much in accident avoidance. Whoever said modified suspension is the best for accident avoidance is correct (assuming its upgraded shocks/struts and sway bars/tower bars). That and breaking and steering are really the only things that will help you avoid an accident.

In my opinion...
