Those with 17 or 18'' rims... how many miles do you get a set of tires?

nitto
my nitto n555s lasted last summer and they are halfway through this summer and still look good. Although one of them seems to have an occasional slow leak... but the treads look pretty good.
Make sure to rotate them appropriately

i have been reading about treadwear ratings..... b/c i feel my tires are wearing too quickly.... i think 20k on 500 dollar tires is horrible.... anyways.. my tires have a 200 rating.... the new Kumos are rated at 300... and the Michelin XGTH4 is rated at 400... they will last TWICE as long as my tires... i think i will go with those tires next. I know they are an H rated tire compared to my Z... but i dont plan on going 140 mph real soon anyways... too many tickets

Actually
Treadratings make no sense to the consumer. According to Tirerack, every manufactuer rates the treadwear relative to only other tires they make. I.E a 300 rated Kumho tire could last twice as long or as short compared to a 320 rated Goodyear.
From my experience, my stock Goodyear Eagle RSA's lasted 45K with some tread still on them. I switched to a set of used Lexus GS400 wheels with the Bridgestone Potenza RE030. I put on about 15K miles on them and they still have a ways to go. I bought a set of brand new replacements since I found them for less than half off on ebay. The treadwear rating is only 180, but I figure they'd last a while. The Lexus guys say they can put 30K on them easily; the Maxima is much lighter, so I figure I should do 40K no problem. These tires are the best tires I've ever owned. They are extremely quiet, never squeal on turns, and are excellent in the rain.

I have 40K miles on my Toyos. Time for new ones, though. I beat my tires up a lot. Rememeber: Z-rated tires aren't about only the top-speed rating. Z-rated tires have the stickiest compounds and the best grip. If you use your Maxima for spirited driving, you're likely to kill yourself with H-rated tires. My next set of tires will definitely be the Toyo Proxes T1-Ss.
