I'm told Nitto and Falken make terrible all season tires. A friend of mine would constantly lose traction in the rain with the Nittos. From my circle of friends, 10% with Kumhos aren't satisfied. The other 90% love them...you can't beat the price.

like most manufactuers, they make tires from high performance to touring to all season tires. It depends on which one your talkin about. Kumho's are really great for the price but they arent the best performing tire.

the only Kumho i would consider is the Ecsta Supra 712. Other Kumho's are junk. The Potenza RE730 is a really good performing tire. Dont take my word for it, read reviews about it over the net. Im a part time tire salesman so i go through alot of different tires. S0-3's are out! splurge for some of those...their awesome tires. Keep in mind with all high performance tires, there is always a tradeoff somewhere. Wheter it be less wet traction, or faster wearing tire.

KUMHO ECSTA Supra 712,235/45ZR17-$102.00 each-Whalen Tire.com.

I have had them for about two weeks and I really like them...they ride good enough for me....but I cannot compare them to other tires.....a really, really, good price....

I have the kumho 712's too,same size.
If you want great dry performance for good price ,i paid 100 a piece .This is not a tire for snow i know this firsthand, you will get stuck in under an inche of snow.they get slippery in rain.
i use stock 15's in winter.

I'll prob pass on the Kumho Ecsta 712 .. i need wet weather traction ... that's what I hate the most about my stock tires ... they slide all over the place in the rain

What SO-3's?

R the Potentza R730's good in rain as well?

tkx guys!

NITTO TIRES

I currently have Nitto NT 555 extreme (245/40 18) tires, on my car. I got Nittos because they dont wear down as quick as your other tires. Now do keep in mind that you cant get a perfect tire. If you get a tire that sticks to the ground its going to wear down pretty quick since is made of good rubber. Prior to me purchasing my rims I read an article in Sport Compact about Nittos New Tire and that is where I made my decision, and is true.

My KUMHOS have been great in the rain. Not as good as my old Firestone SZ50s but still a good tire.

VERY bad in the snow but for $100 ea for 235-45-17, you can't have it all. Fairly quiet for such an aggressive tread pattern and better than ave treadlife.

I live in Seattle, so I get to test the rain all the time.

I have those Kuhmos and I think they are good in the rain, thats one of the first things I noticed, as long as you don't drive like a retard you'll be fine...I have a lot of confidence driving in the rain with them compared to my old tires..

Actually the Kuhmos 712s are great in rain... I think that is the strong point for these tires... low noise and comfort to boot... there's a little trade off in dry traction... I love them... plus you can't touch them for the price.

Try the Pirelli Sport Veloce P6000's. Medicsonic has them and he says they are very good in wet weather. I have them on my stock 15's and they are beautiful, even in snow.
