What makes the aftermarket torque converter bad for everyday driving?

it makes the "catch point" of the torque converter lower. Instead of starting it's job at say 2000rpms like stock it won't start until 2900rpms like a high stalll one. It lets you brake torque higher though and get mad good launches.
