Who here has torn an mount? How much to fix?
Over the past few days my car has been driving me crazy. Shortly after installing my short shifter and banging a couple hard 1-2 shifts (much quicker than normal) I started noticing more vibration thru the pedals, floor board, seat, and shifter. The vibration was rpm dependant. I thought it might be my exhaust hangers, but they were fine. I inspected the front and side engine mounts and they were fine. Today, I got underneath my car and inspected the rear mount and it appears to be torn along the base of the mount. I started my car and put my hand on the tranny case, block, and oil pan and they seem to be vibrating more than normal. It appears that thru over 2 1/2 years of ownership, lots of hard shifts, and about 50 1/4 mile passes, the mount finally gave out. I want my Maxima's smoothness back.
Have many of you had this happen? Which engine mount got torn? How much to fix?

g'luck on your car.
I bet its the rear. You can buy some Place racing mounts for ~250 for the front and rear. But a new factory $$$??? Search a junk yard for a used onr and get the same problem in a little while. Or fill your busted one with urothane. Their is a goon article in SER.NET about doing this. I bought the urothane but didnt use it, I'll sell it to you. It cost me ~$25.00, e-mail me if your intereestd. The draw back is that it takes ~6 days to fully cure, thats why I just went with the PR mounts.
