280hp
I've seen as much as 280 on the Motor Trend website, if you go to yahoo and do a search on G35 it shows a motor trend link that has some decent info for what we should see stateside, I just hope this 280hp beast comes through... I hate to think of it but if there was ever reason for trading in my Max.

I was thinking the same think Eric L. But I think the "G35" will have something close to 270hp to put some distance between it and the I35, if it's still sold when this car hits the showroom floors. Two cars with the same engine, same HP?.... well we know that the "G35" will be the performer of the two. I just wonder where this will put the I35?

Maybe Infiniti is taking the Lexus approach. With the sporty IS300, Lexus' product manager says it let them devote the new ES to all luxury, very little sport (although it still handles quite well). So...I see no reason why the I35 can't be the luxury car and the G35 the sporty car, both in the same price range. But don't bet on 270 or 280hp...260hp would already be top of class, and you know Nissan...they tend not to surprise us on new models by offering MORE horsepower than originally expected.

Motor Trend Article
Not to say they're the end all say all but when one of the big motor mags prints car data, manufacturers tend to avoid "last minute" changes to such data.

Its hopeful that this is true, 280hp is a lot of HP to start off with and it being a skyline will probably have alot of aftermark import tuners looking to put out lots of mods. hmmm....

I think whatever the horsepower is, Nissan/Infiniti will not be showing any figures or performance stats until next year for the US version. Since they have so much riding on this new design, they don't want another "Q45 claim" coming back to haunt them.
