How many miles can I go on my slipping clutch?

I had my mechanic check her about 2 wks ago, he couldn't feel the slipping, at that time was subtle and intermittent. Now much more obvious. No real problem as I have the new clutch in a box ready for install. The real problem is that my brother Spike and I are on our way to Arkansas on Thursday morning with plans on more Maxima mods. The slip is noticable if I push her, especially in third gear. Is it possible to get 1,500 miles before she goes out completly? Should I just nurse her along? Input appreciated. We really need her there because of the VE engine.

If you know it's slipping..

My advise is to get it replaced since you already have one. My clutch was slipping slightly and I thought I would be ok, but all the sudden, it completely burned out and I was left stranded with my engine running, but not moving. Luckly I was at a place where others were able to lend me a hand by calling the AAA for me with their cell phone. For some reason, my cell was out of range.

Yeah you should just do it cause mine went on me a couple of weeks ago. It started slipping then it stopped and thought it was alright. Then one day it was completly done.

Do it now

It's safer, and you don't run the risk of screwing anything up in the process. Plus, you can school all the Hondas on the 1,500 mile trip to Arkansas and back.

I just got my car back. The new clutch feels a lot different. It pulls so much faster now. When I take my foot off the clutch just a little it starts to pull really easy. You should get now cause you have to break it by putting 400-500 miles on it.

Clutch slip

Thanks for all the feedback. There was no way I could get it done before leaving for Arkansas. Spike (other brother who just happens to be a certified TIG welder) and I made here it ok.She's not slipping any worse. I brought the new clutch with just in case. BTW Dallas, Spike, and I are working on the very newest version of the WarpSpeed y-pipe in the morning, Mandrel bent 304-SS, no butt welds planned and at a fraction of the cost of the Cattman pipe! Will keep everyone updated.
