Is there something we can do about the speed of this site?
Well just have to wait. Jambo announced that he'd be upgrading the server by the end of the month.
I was up until 4 am last night catching up on posts. It was lightning fast. Now, with this many members logged on, you can see how much the server can handle...
and I have cable too...

Definitely. It's almost as if all of this server is on one NT/microsoft machine or something 
But the site does have a LOT of traffic going in/out when it's busy....I'm surprised there aren't separate servers for the larger forums (different gens, etc).

Ya I run at 7-800 kb and it takes forever to do anything. I end up giving up and leaving. I though the server was upgraded once already? I don't know? purehonda.com has 48,000 members and if FAST! Please Jambo help!! I love maxima.org!

As mentioned in a previous post, we're going to be evaluating a dedicated server for Maxima.org. Our "family" has grown, and it's time to move on to a bigger and better environment for us to live in.
We've been given 2 weeks to evaluate this new server, and from what I've tested so far, the thing really screams. In addition, it will actually cost less than our current server per month!
