LOL! It's an ooglie antenna that you can stick on the car...imo it serves no purpose except to make the car look like a shark ..check out Y2KevSE's pics...he has one of those things

 

oooh are those the things like the ones jettas have? if they are, wehre could i get one? ...and...wouldnt that look lame with the real anteanna up?

 

I have one on my car too. No pics of it yet. My antenna is normally down, b/c I use the cd player. It's like the vw's antenna. You should be able to get it at your local performance shops.

Does anybody have a functioning ooglie? I hate to say it, but I like the look, especially compared to that dirty power antenna sticking off the back of my car.

 

You'll have to drill a hole in your roof and run wires down. I don't believe anyone on this forum has a functional version, but you could be the first.

...would a wired Ooglie provide increased/enhanced reception over the stock antenna printed into the rear windows??
I've noticed that the radio range in my Y2K Max is not as great as in my mom's y2K Beetle with the roof mounted antenna

 

I'll eventually get the real Ooglie antenna and shave off that factory one. Sky Max had it on his old max, but he crashed it.
