I know the engine from the 300ZX turbo will fit right into may max. I've been over this with my mechanic. I now have the chance to get one of these engines at a great price. What else will I need to get this done right?

your mechanic is an idiot because we have had this discussion 285,582,457 times. IT WON'T WORK, DROP IT. First rule of engine swaps is don't talk about engine swaps.

Don't listen to him Go and drop that bad boy into the maxima. If Sean Glazer can drop a 4G63 into a Mirage. You can do it too.

Your mechanics ***. Because thats where you're going to shove the engine when he tells you (after hes taken your maxi apart) that it WONT FIT.

I had some other pressing financial issues come up since then. But, I will have this done by the end of the year. My mechanic is already helping me source the parts.

Sorry to hear about that. I hope you get everything worked out fine.

Question. May I ask why you've decided to go with the VG30DETT in your 99 Max instead of a VQ35DE for an engine swap? It just6 makes more sense to me to go that route. If you were swapping an engine into a 3rd gen Max I could easily see going with the VG30. You do know that the VQ which you have and the VG are two totally different engines (not related at all).

Would be cool if you got it done. But some reasoning may help us understand.
