Lets end this Maxima/Type S thing once and for all. Middle September lets meet up at the track and see which car is faster. I go to the track in Union Grove, WI. All of you are invited. I will post exact date later on when I get back. Do we have any takers?

well i take back what i just said.. i was thinking 4th Gen..
a 5th Gen 5spd and a 2002 CL-S are pretty evenly matched..
the problem is.. the CL-S is an Auto so it doesn't take much to be consistent on times..
the maxima is a manual transmission... so guy (a) can run 14's.. guy (b) in chicago per say might not..
if its auto vs auto.. then the CL-S wins again..

No sense in fighting someone elses battles over someone elses grudge match..
I posted last week to race anyone in the CT area.. and even though i didn't race any CL-S.. i met a pretty cool guy from Westport CT..

Ben.. no reason to lock anything.. the guys came over here and are being respectful and all about business.. its put up or shut up.. .obviously someone started something over there.. if we can go over there board then they can come here.. and they are behaving better than people from here over there

You're cool as hell. I love to race..its my hobby, and I always like meeting new people. This is a friendly invite nothing more. I respect both cars very much, its just that things on our forum were getting way out of hand with one person. But it would be cool to see some modded/stock Maximas go against modded/stock Type S.

well ok, im not into racing much.. but i did go to the track with sprio last night, with my TL-S i got a 15.1 all 3 times, keep in mind i never raced before, plus i have a system in the trunk.
Spiro's CLS actually got a 14.7, but i personaly think he can get a 14.5 if he lowered his tire pressure.
So a maxima 5-speed with an intake alone, can do a 15.1 like me? Im not saying its not possible, i just dont know.

Yes but i know tempers have flaired on a couple boards and everyone has been getting the wrong impression of ALL maxima owners.. just wanted you guys to know you are welcome here and we are all cool..
I would post in the Upper midwest forum.. you might get more response there.. most times a lot of people stick to their regional forums because they don't want to read the everyday BS in the general forum..

Again its up to driver..
there is one 5spd 5th gen with (Intake and Y Pipe) he runs 14.3
there is another 5spd 5th gen with (Intake and Y pipe) he runs 15.3
its all about potential and driver ability

Chicago TLS...I think a few of us in the Chicago area are gonna try to stop by you guys meet at Hooters in Schaumburg...Im definately not racing lol....maybe in Oct. or so...i'll get out and play at the track in Wisc. in Oct...those cool evenings will help times completely..but im looking forward to meeting you guys...I've been scared to come out due to my stockeness..but Im sure the other fellow Maxima members in the area..like Mxdriver..Dusty and Brian will come out and represent as well...

There is a member on this forum that goes by the name "Acura2000CL-S" (or something to that effect). He frequents the 5th gen forum and talks smack left and right. Obviously, you guys aren't like him.
As Sprint and Bill stated, you are welcomed here as long as you stay civil (like now). There are some regular members that are not Maxima owners here, i.e. SteVTEC moderator of SHO.org, so stay as long as you guys want.
