tire wear problem---your advice?
#1
I have about 13,000 miles on my Sumitomos which are now starting to show wear in an odd way. I have had the car aligned 6 times! Yes, 6!!! It's in spec and they are sick of dealing with me, I know. Actually I took it to two shops because I thought the one shop was wrong.
My car DOESN'T pull which down't really matter, I know. The car has a small vibration but I know that's from a SLIGHTLY bent rim.
The weird thing? The wear is on the middle of the tire if you are looking down on top of the tire. The edges are even--perfectly, actually. But the middle of the tires are noticably more worn than the sides. My tire pressure is 32psi's. I ran 34 for about 1800 miles and then back to 32. My shop said I have severely over inflated them, yea right! The suggest I run 27psi's.
I need help because my 13,000 mile tires are going to need replaced in about 10 if I am not careful.
SUGGESTIONS???
SHUMAX
I have new shocks/struts--springs...everything--including the strut bearings.

The tire shop is right, excessive wear in the center tread means you are overinflating your tires. You don't seem to be running excessively high pressures, but well, you never know. Stick with the OEM pressures for a while and see what happens.
