Sorry, the amount of time it will take to answer this doesnt warrant using the search.

Is $195 a generally good price to be paying for a tint job? (rip off? sound cheap?) I'm probably going to be going with a 30 percent and it's metalized.

It is a decent price, as long as the tinting has liftime warranty. It is a much better price the I paid for mine, I paid about 320 or so with tax.

What? I paid 100 bucks for lifetime 35% SolarGard metallic tint. Regular cost is 165 and up for Maxima's , though I got it on a hook up. $195 sounds about right.

$320 for a tint job? What the hell were they tinting? Man, sorry to say but you got ripped off! That is way to much for a tint job no matter what state you live in. I live in the most expensive state around (Hawaii) and I paid only $120 for 12% tint all around and they threw a 10" strip on my windshield for free. I could even go 5% tint all around and still not pay more than $180. Those guys must have been laughing there a** off after you left. They sure did take you for a ride. Unless of course, every tint shop in your state charges around the same amount. If they do, then they sure are ripping off the public. Good luck.
