I just created a new site.

http://www.maximaproducts.f2s.com

It's where people can send in reviews of products that they have bought for their Max.

Anything you can think of that you've done or put into your car is up for review.

Just off the top of my head, you can review:
lights
VB recalibrations
torque converters
Nitrous kits
body kits
fstb
rstb
rsb
airhorns
bodykits
rims
tires
y-pipes
b-pipes
intakes
exhausts
high-flow cats
audio gear (including headunits, amps, subs, speakers, etc)
underbody neon kits
altezzas
nozzle lights
lowering springs
shocks
coilovers
shift *****
steering wheel covers
alarms

and about hundreds of other items that I can't think of right now including waxes, car wash equipment and products.

Anything you can think of that has touched your car, you can review.

This is to give other Maxima enthusiasts an idea about how good or bad a product is.

I'm still adding a search engine to the site as well as adding reviews for stuff I have on my car.

So ... people, start sending in those reviews.

Almost none... I put up reviews on a few of the things that I have (intake, fstb, rsb) but the majority of the items I don't have a review of yet - hence the many broken links.

The site is heavily dependant on other Max enthusiasts (obviously). I can't be buying everyting and then reviewing it.

Thanks for your help guys!

(Btw... for those who sent in reviews, you should have gotten an automated email response when you submitted a review, if you did not get an automated email response, please let me know through PM, thanks.)

But I still need more reviews. I posted all the reviews that were submitted to me already and I'm going to put up several more of my own reviews today or tomorrow.

Spread the word... the site can only work if people participate. And don't limit yourselves to just the standard parts. You can review things that people always ask about (ie: auto shiftknobs, neons, cleaning products, all the little stuff that you sometimes don't even think about.)

Thanks to all who submitted a review!

pics

Have an optional "add picture" field. That way people can see pics of these things on a maxima, and that would probably help in a lot of cases.
Also a way to get more reviews is have a "top 3 reviewers" with their name and e-mail on the front page. People always like a compition =)

Re: pics

Hmmm ... I'll have to think about how to implement the add picture thing.

But the top three reviewers is a good idea.

There are some pre- made CGI scripts that will do that. You just have a special directory for pictures. Or you can just have people upload them on their servers and provide a link, although i think it would be better if the pics were hosted on your end.

True... but I'm still looking at moving the entire site to a real web host instead of the free one I'm using now. So then I can drop the "f2s".

And also, at this point in time, I'm putting up the reviews by hand. I'm still looking for a cgi script that will put up the review automatically.

It took me three days to rewrite the cgi review/email script and submit page. I downloaded a really simple script and had to rewrite it so it would accomodate my needs. Considering that I have no knowledge of Perl whatsoever, three days is pretty good!

You can use my Warpspeed / Cattman review, but I will have to update it first so that it's less objective

http://www.geocities.com/breaux124/ypipes/review.html

And the dyno graph:
http://www.geocities.com/breaux124/dyno.html

I can also do a comparison review of the Courtesy FSTB and the Stillen FSTB:
"Stillen is nicer looking than the courtesy. But the courtesy one fits a little nicer, but nothing that should be a factor. They both do the same thing."

I made a script that does somthing like that... takes input from a page and adds that data to an exisiting page... it would take some tweaking though.

Woman? What woman?

I'm focusing all my energies on finding a job and putting up the reviews.

And speaking of reviews, all those that have been submitting to me as of this morning are up!

You might have to refresh/reload the page to see the new changes.

Yeah, it's in body, windows, waxes - bodykits - stillen

If that still doesn't work, try refreshing the "body, windows, waxes" page.

And thanks for the php files. Now I just have to use my secret decoder ring and figure out how to use it!

One thing at a time.

I'm still trying to work out a way to let people post up reviews automatically instead of me typing them up manually.

But soon after that, you'll be able to upload pictures of your mods.

Well ... isn't the SMX "technically" part of the body kit?
