Thanks for the tip!
In #4 I used ********** then ********* Wow it seemed to get rid of a lot of non Maxima related spam! Works great!
Thanks again!

Re: Thanks for the tip!
I'm 5000 miles from home in Germany, and if anything this at least makes for interesting reading, the German's would probably laugh at the comment that a max could beat a M3, although I question what they think (crazy bastards). All I can say is good luck to the driver of the max....

It will be funny
Ya those euro M3 are crazy fast for sure vs the 240HP North American ones. Sure will be interesting to see how a stock 240HP M3 does against a 275HP (lightly modded) 6spd Max?
PS I'm sure those "crazy bastards" are also laughing at how a 2k2 NA Vette (less than half the price) outperforms the crown jewel 911TT too!

Re: Re: Re: Thanks for the tip!
Tough call I drove a 97 5 speed coupe (modded to about 265Hp, lowered, 18" wheels, same gu had a more tame 4 door auto--??)and it was well beyond anything I had ever driven at that point (2 years ago), I know at 4000+ RPM's that thing shoots off like a rocket, and I don't think the max would have that type of gearing or top end, I was also heavily influenced by its handling, I was on some twisties. But, 275 HP is 275 HP. There is not a max in the world that handles like that (my max is slow, but suspension wise is about as good as it gets). I'm glad BMW finally brought a (semi) euro spec M3 to states, hopefully that will be my next car in about 6-12 (if I can find one for about 42 by then).

I agree the M3 would have better top end and outhandle a stock Max no problem. Taking into consideration a slight price difference as well I would hope the M3 would have a better suspension. With springs, shocks, good tires, strut bars and rsb the 4th/5th gen Max handles a lot better than most people realize. If the Altima gets good aftermarket support it is going to handle extremely well much better than the Max I imagine.

He traded both M3's, I actually think the coupe was a 96, and the 4 door a 97, for a 2001 pathfinder LE 3.5 (35,000 grand?). The only thing I could do to my car is coilovers, and it still couldn't handle even half as well as the M3, the new Altima/Max I would have to drive, and probably will. As far as price you could pick up a used M3 likes my friends for 20-24 in good shape about the same as a used 2K-2K1 Max. I would like to SEE the race, I agree with you that there a lot of bogus stories that I have heard. I have seen SOME fast Max's, every M3 is fast.

In Canada the new M3 is selling for $69KCDN (and they are not selling over list at Bimmer Dealers). With current exhange rates that works out to about $45K US brand new. The new Max 6spd lists for $36.9KCDN (SE w/leather fully loaded) after exhange that works out to about $24.5KUS (that is without working a deal). Not bad eh? If you guys can buy cars in Canada and drive them back down to the USA you will save a bundle of money from the looks of it.
I dunno I wouldn't want to buy 5-6 year old performance car out of warranty..especially a bimmer.

Still trying eh?
Since when is the Z06 not considered a stock production car? Maybe not base model but still a 2K2 stock (ie. from factory available at dealers not aftermarket tuned) Vette which is still less than half the price of 2k1 911TT and will outperform it. The 2K2 GT2 will give it a much better run I imagine but not sure of the price of those either.
PS The Maxima is a great car!

I know probably best to buy it in Alberta or something. There is no getting around that damn 7% GST though.
AznWontonboy: Well I was hoping it would end but some people directed some questions to me so I had the common courtesy of answering them.
