synth oil

Why do you want to change to old school oil when synthetics are better and not very expensive with the exeption of a fiew [red line/amsoil].But if you insist on saving a few bucks every 5K miles then I do not see why changing back to regular oil would be a problem. There has been a unresolved contraversy on that subject though but tryit and find out for your self, and let us know if you have any problems.

Well, I use Mobil 1 full synthetic in my Max. I figure that the boys at Porsche, AMG, etc. can't be wrong. All those cars come factory with Mobil 1 Synthetic, and their warrantee's are can actually be voided if you don't use Mobil 1 Synthetic oil in them! Actually, Porsche can void your warrantee if you don't get your oil changed at the dealer! But who wants to tear apart the back of their Boxster to change their own friggen oil anyways? I'd just keep with the Sythetic, use Mobil 1, and if you don't already know how, learn to change your own oil. Its better for your car and gives you a "bonding" experience with your Max!
