I am currently leasing a 99 Sunfire GT and the lease ends March 2002. I have been getting letters from GM and my local dealer trying to get me into another GM car right now. The last letter I got said i have to "make a decision right now". However I don't want another GM I want a 4th gen Maxima.

Someone told me that I can go to the Nissan Dealer choose the car I want on their lot and I can return the Sunfire to them (Nissan).

Is this true? I knew I can return the car to any GM dealer but other manufacturers??

How is it possible to get out of a lease contract? Is there some penalty for breaking a lease? Shouldn't you know these answers since you lease a car?

 

Go to a Nissan dealer that ALSO runs a Chevrolet or other GM dealership...I was offered a chance to do that, turn in the GM for a Nissan...only thing that stopped me was being upside down too much :'(

 

that's cool that they allow you to do that.
