? on FSTB installation....need help
Ok guys, I am finally gonna install the courtesy fstb that Ive had for weeks and just now have time to install. Am I better off having a shop do it, or can you give me tips on the installation. Thanks in advance...as always your help is MUCH appreciated
UPDATE lol.....ok I just found instructions on the install on chestons website...But does anyone have any do's or dont's that they ran into on the install? Thanks
Also, I am taking off the emblems tommorow. Should I use fishing line or dental floss? Any other comments about that?
I am also changing my wiper blades ......anything about that?? Thanks!!

wiper blades... i suggest the stock ones. just get the refils. i've used a few aftermarket brand wiper blades and arms. it doesn't work as well. but ofcourse that's imo.
emblems.. i say fishing line. but floss i not bad. just start from one side and start sawing away while pulling it out with the floss. i dunno if u understand what i'm saying. but ok..
sorry i'm no tooo clear on how the courtesy bar would work so i can't help u there.

Torque wrench
Yes, I agree with bullseye, make sure you don't overtighten the nuts. I did the installation yesterday and the improvements are very nice (I paid $60 Canadian for mine including tax at a regular store so no shipping).
If you want to have a little piece of mind I strongly suggest you use a torque wrench (If you can't borrow one from someone you should be able to rent one from Pep Boys or something). You can torque them anywhere from 29 - 40 ft/lbs (I did mine at 35). Torque them all down at 20 first, then torque them to 35 so it goes in even.
Other than that, the installation was a breeze!
Have fun!

use fishing line if u have..it's a lot stronger. if not then use waxed dental floss..but you're going to have a harder time doing it. also spray some WD-40 so it cuts easier.
