Are there any consequences to running rich for long periods of time?

If you run overly rich for a long time you're likely foul the cat and if your running really rich your probably getting bad gas mileage and losing a few hp...

rich = too much fuel in your air/fuel mixture
lean = too little fuel in your air/fuel mixture

You'll also foul the spark plugs due to the rich mixture, so you're hurting yourself two-fold. 1) too much fuel 2) the air/fuel mixture is not fully igniting

Running rich already makes you lose a little power and decrease gas mileage. When the plugs don't fully ignite the mixture, power and mileage goes down further.

If you're in an area with emissions testing, you'll most likely fail.
