Hmm..your 250hp, RWD, sounds like a description of the Audi A6 2.7t. The Audi has Quattro too!

My point is that just because Nissan builds it, it doesn't mean it will be a fabulous car. I'm still waiting to see if the new 2002 Q45 will hold a candle to the LS430. Sure it has 340hp, but I'll wait to hear the performance numbers before giving props to Nissan.

I hear that the XVL will replace the I30. Since the XVL is pretty small, it will have tough competion from IS300, Benz C-class, and BMW 3-series.

It looks kinda ugly...the car is too stubby..especially the front end/grill. And the front lights are too Prelude-ish with a hint of MB SLK lights.

Some news on the XVL from motortrend.com
2002 Infiniti XVL: Shown in Tokyo and Detroit, the XVL concept has production intentions - the question is where it will fit in the model range. We've heard both G20 replacement and late J30 replacement. Dimensionally, the XVL is closer to the G20 than the I30, suggesting that the original G20 rumor heard from within Nissan is true. (XVL is about five inches longer and two inches wider than the G20.) What we do know is that the upscale XVL bundles the latest technologies and design concepts into a luxurious sedan. Built on a new corporate rear-drive platform, the XVL promises performance with a direct- injection V-6 gasoline engine mated to a continuously variable transmission. The distinct shape cheats the wind with a low 0.28 drag coefficient. For reference: length 182.5 inches, width 68.3 inches, 57.7 inches, and wheelbase 111.2 inches. On sale spring 2002.

the xvl is a 3 series, is, and c class competitor. hey, lexus has the es and is in the same lineup. why not xvl and i30? i30 will move up in size in its next iteration anyways- both in size and displacement.
