Odometer/Rolling back miles => Do dealers know??
#41
my 91se has a haunted mileage counter(odometer),
it just works on and off i havent really cared enough to even notice a "pattern"
it shows like 183.5k miles but i guess it to be more like 190k since i have only noticed it for like the last 2 years but have had the car 4+ years since 153k
ON TOPIC=its easy to say i would not pull any odometer scams because
i will never afford a new or newish car ...BUT, i think its baad mmmkay
im actually hoping to rack up the miles and be proud. my other maxima(92 se)
has 230k now, up from 215k whence i re-animated it. its just a spare car for now but id like to break 300k with it <-- them

Bought an '85 BMW a few years back and the speedometer/odometer went. Replaced it with a used unit with about 50,000 fewer miles reading on it. Would have felt guilty passing it off like that, so told the new owner the truth.

When you sell a car you have to sign an odometer disclosure statement. If you lie and you are caught, it is a felony, at least here in Florida. Don't do it.
