Oiled Paper Air Filter

Oiled Paper Air Filter
I have used K&N in the past on my truck and Explorer with great results. I went to look at the filter on my Max and found that it is a paper filter, however the filter is oiled?
Was this used in previous years? I am going to get a K&N but what with the paper oiled filter?
Does anyone have a preference for oil filters? My truck needed one with an anti-drainback valve (rubber lip) to keep oil from filling the filter when the truck was shut off. Is this necessary for my Max?

The Nissan OEM filter is not oiled. Only the K&N "fabric" filters need to be oiled, since they are not as densely packed as the paper filters and cannot filter without the oil. Do not oil your Nissan filter!
I used a K&N panel filter for a while. I felt no difference in power. But it is reusable, if that's what you want to buy it for. If not, just get a JWT cone.

I think you misunderstood....
I just got the car home last night, when I removed the OEM filter is oiled paper.
This is not a mistake, I touched it and got oil on my hands. The filter is white with pink oil.
