New brakes.....how long before the entire brake pad contacts the rotor?......

I noticed that my brakes are only half grabbing the rotor. Only the outer edge is grabing as after I washed my car only half the rust was removed from the are the pads sweep. I'm sure this is normal with new pads. As the top part of the pads wear just a tad, the bottom portion will start to make contact. I love the brakes already so I guess i'm in for a real treat in about 200 miles or so.

The pads should fully break in in about 200-300 miles. I noticed that when I got my new brakes, the pads didn't get to full contact until about 350 miles..when I finally "got on" the brakes, it seems to me that they need that extra pressure in the beginning to get the full pad to contact the rotor.
