If you've been reading some of the tuner mags on the market, you're always hearing, be careful of what (exhaust or whatever) your buying b/c it might attract the attention of the men in black. So who here has really gotten a fix it ticket and for what and where do u live? Cuz even though i don't have one of those typical imports, i do have a coffee can muffler and all the illegal lighting, i haven't even gotten a glance from the men in black. So i just wanted to see if anyone else was having any problems.

friend got some. he has a silver GS400 just like mine, the cop was being an ***, give him 4 tickets at one time for aftermarket exhaust, japanese aristo clear inner round tail lights, tint too dark, and most ridiculous, yellow fog which is stock on GS400.
anyway the good things is all you need to do is to bring your car fixed to a local P.S. to show them, they will sign off the ticket, and usually they don't look. so what we did is put his license plate on my GS400 and he drove it to P.S., they looked outta window and wavied all 4 ticket.

depends

on where you live. Some areas of the country still make you go to court to get off. Thats the way it was in va. Worse still, in some states even if you win in court you have to pay court costs! Who the hell thought of that? Its like, ok, we were wrong, you're not guilty and shouldn't have been f'd with in the first place, but you still have to pay because we had to get off our fat a**es and put down the doughnuts to come down here? That makes me so mad that i cannot even express it without getting the post deleted. Ahhhhrrrrrrrrrhhhhhhhhhhhhgggggggghhhhhgghghhhhrrr !!!!!!!!!!!

Hummm, fix it tickets, my list is LONGGGGG

on my Honda:
front tint(2 times)
modified exhaust
clear corners(3 times)
no front plate(2 times)
Foglights on while driving
foglights too low
1 headlight blown

on the Max:
Smog violation(2 times)
no front plate(2 times)
clear corners(come stock on Max)
clear bumper lights

when i had my honda, i got pulled over at least once per month, the town i grew up in had ZERO fixed up Imports. There's so many things that are technically illegal that cops can get you for. Hanging an air freshner from your rear view mirror is considered illegal. Those big windsheild banners are illegal also. I live in CA and this may not be the same for all states

tinted windows

just got a fix it ticket for my 2 front windows being too dark here in CA... i actually wanted to just pay off the fine so i could keep the tints, but i don't have that option since it's a "correctable violation."

could i just get any cop to sign off on the back of the ticket (even if i keep the tints), and send it in (along with $10)?

On my old ride which was a tacoma, I got fix-it tickets for the tint and I took it off. Then I retinted it again and got a exhaust. A few months later, the university cops got me and give me tickets for the tint and the exhaust. I didn't take anything off and just paid the ticket.

Got a fix it ticket once for the tint on my VW Scirocco. I had the back 2 windows tinted 5% as well as the hatch. Woman cop gave me a ticket. All I did was take the car to the State patrol station, give the officer there my ticket, and told him I removed the tint from my FRONT windows. Signed off on it, and I was on my way. :-).

i dont understand this "fix it ticket" thing...so if i get a ticket for, let's say Hiper whites, i can go to the police station tell them that i removed it and they would let me off the ticket? who would i talk to?

i had a speeding ticket fixed but that's it...and i didn't do it, my mom's friend did the ticket for me

well it depends on the cop. if he takes your word, then he'll simply sign off on it. but i'm betting most cops would want to see it for themselves... unless of course u have a friend who's a cop and will do u a favor (what i'm trying to do!)...
