Frustrating night at the track...
Well, last night didn't go as well as I would have thought.
2 time ago (which is like a month+) when I was there was when I was running 14.6's and my 14.5. The time after that I couldn't break 15.0 with NO change in the car, and just my girlfriend in the passenger seat (an no, she's not that big). I assumed that it was because it was hot and humid.
So, this time I go out with the Catback and UDP added and can't get out of the 14.7's. My best was a 14.72x @ 93.9x mph. No so great.
A few things to note:
- It was about 10 degrees warmer and 20% more humid than my best day. I couldn't believe it. We've had cold weather for the past month or so, every night but last night.
- I drove 130 miles to get there because I was coming from my gf's. The car never seemed to cool down...even with ice on the intake manifold. It never got cool to the touch.
- This is .3s faster than the car in the same weather my previous time.
So, I think I'm done for the year. Before next time I'll put in new plugs, fuel filter and clean the air filter.
Maybe there's something wrong with the car. Who knows.

hmm.. my UDP theory rises again.. but....
i am going to give Dave and yourself some more time when it gets cold in late Oct and early Nov..
but you guys already know my theory.. the UDP increases times.. not lowers it

Like my post says...my times dropped .3s from the time before.
Sound to me like my times went down a little? Imagine that!

I wouldn't worry about it too much. From my experience, the VQ is rather inconsistent on any given day. I'm usually within .1 on every run for any given track day, but my times can vary from 14.7s to 15.1s depending on weather (hope that made sense). Same goes for my trapspeeds (before the UDP). Sometimes I'd run a 14.9@94 and other times I'd run a 14.9@92 on the same day. The slightly warmer and more humid weather probably had a very slight affect on et. It would be more of a factor if it was 20-30 degrees warmer and 40-50% more humid. That kind of change could be responsible for a tenth or so. I've tried icing my intake many times, but by the time I've cooled down my motor I've been stuck in a 30 minute staging line that's gotten my motor hot again. Prior to a run, my intake manifold is very hot to the touch. I've "hot lapped" my car (making nearly back to back runs) and having no cool down didn't affect my et or trap speed. Don't worry about it too much.

Like ejj5875 stated, I too dropped my ets and increased my trapspeeds compared other timeslips in similiar conditions. Give me a chance to run a few times in October and hopefully we can put this debate to rest. I'll also be dynoing sometime in the month.
