A 1st gen. ?? Wtf ? Does RWD really make that big a difference ?? C'mon help me out here why a RWD p.o.s. 1st gen can run 12's while a much more powerful (stock) FWD 4th gen can't ? I cannot believe a freakn drivechain would make that much difference !

even if it was fast, i wouldn't drive it, but nice project though. no disrepect to your car, but cars aren't all about speed, if they were, i would get a civic and fix it up.

Hmm.. now I dunno, maybe, just maybe a Maxima with a T4 turbo, Apex'i Skyline GT-R intercooler, and a 60 shot might take a s/ced VQ? Hmm.. wanna find out? VQ that..

Hybrid's do not count. Let's discuss orginal engine that came in the car, orginal drivetrain. Who has the fastest Maxima out there to date that can prove with timeslips or video?

Anyone can drop in a LT1 OR LS1 into a max and make it fast too Or any engine if they had the time.

To date that we know of:

12.2 = Don in Texas
12.6 = Ghetto Max
13.2 = Climax

I know there are a few others, but thats the ones I know of with time slips

Oh, and why don't hybrid Maximas count? They use the same block, just slightly different internals.

Hybrid? I mean a different engine that came in the car. The orginal engine with different internals doesn't matter.

For example, that 1st gen had a rotary (mazda), hybrid, doesn't count.

 

Oh, it does? That 1st gen belongs to my friend Jeff. Its powered by an L28 turbo engine out of a older Z car. Now, go back to doing whatever you were doing because you definetly have no idea what you're talking about..
