Question for those who have 18's

I just had some ADR GT Sport rims installed last night and I had heard that having 18's on your car will affect your fuel economy. In other words, my gas mileage is going to suck now that I have 18's vice the stock 16's. Has anyone experienced this or is that not the case? Also, having 18's sure does make you feel every bumb in the road. Oh well, it will take some getting use to. Thanks.

i have had 18's for like 7 months....

and i have not really noticed any major fuel drop off. i also drive like gas is free, but i still can get 450ish on a tank on the hwy. it really depends on your driving style.

the 18" wheel and tire is the same size as your stock..only now you have less tire and more wheel......the only reason your gas consumption would differ is if your new wheels are really heavy.....

My mpg is fine, and was the same when I had stock 15inch GLEs.

Shoulda gotten 17x8's 18's are to fat and performance suffers significantly more. Am I mad cuzz I didn't go with 18's ? Hell yea. Man it was a HARD decision to go 17's instead of 18.

Bigger the wheel, harder your drivetrain has to work.
Also, your tires... low profile tires= bumpy rides.
I've got 17x8, 235/45/17 tires and they are VERY comfy

BTW- Pics Shadou! Let's see 'em

mine turned out to be about 3 or 4 pounds heavier with tire than stock 15s on my GLE. But 18s look nicer, though I prolly couldn't tell between them and 17s. I'm still glad I got 18s though. Heh

I know what you mean. Everyone told me that if you go with 18's then you will loose on performance but if you all about looks, then no problem. I usually don't race all that much so going with the 18's was no problem for me. But I did loose the really comfortable and quiet ride that I used to have. Having low pros takes some getting used to.

go with 19 for the best ride of ur life

i would go with 19 but sometimes i like to beat on my baby plus i live in the city and i feel everyday there's a new pothole that pops up! no one really cares to fix them in nyc. 18" does not affect too great of a deal. make sure to drop ur car cuz it will look very funny on 4x4 mode.
