So I was stuck traffic in 105 degree weather. New TCM is about 4 days old. Bad, uneven asphalt too... I give it gas when their was a break in traffic and the tranny shuddered. Next stop in 150 feet, it does it again. It went, but there was a faint shudder. I got to my destination (ironically the nissan dealer to get my wheel tools I didnt get). I got back in 10 mins later and it didnt seem to be doing it anymore.

Well, I've got a 1000 mile trip to Houston/Dallas on Thursday and I'm alittle concerned. I can take the pathfinder instead. What ya think? is that something really bad® about to happen or just the heat and bad road?

maybe the TCM was installed funny.. hmm.. i dont have a 5th gen but shuddering on accelerationg means that the car's not catching the gears in time (at least on my 5spd..)

 

I wouldnt' worry about it. I think what you exprienced is the car trying to launch in 2nd gear at 0mph. my car does it... coming to a right turn for example, I am pretty much at 0mph, mayne 1-2mph... car is STILL in second gear. So when I give it gas, it's trying to take of in second. Engine is loaded, car goes no where, make stupid sound. I think the only want to avoid would be to manually shift into 1. I am pretty sure you'll be fine. If not, call me, I'll come get your ***.
