I would prefer U2 over Jay-Z. . . Jay-Z is a really bad rapper in my opinion. . . And you can't dis U2. . .They may have had a few flops with the past couple albums, but Joshua Tree is a classic that everyone should have in their collection. And this from a person that prefers rap over all form of music

One of my favorite U2 Cd's is U2 the Best of 1980-1990. I have a Jay Z CD that I never listen to... it's still brand new

U2000

Hells yes, it's a great cd. So far, I think Elevation and Beautiful Day are my favorites. I couldn't find the limited edition CD tho (who the heck has it?!). Nearly as good Achtung Baby. Pop was good too

For those that don't know.. I'm a U2 freak...

Although I must admit I didn't pick up the new album this moring (I got corraled into changing some struts on a 240sx instead on my day off work and school)... so the review is good thus far eh?.. anyone snag that bonus cd?.. whats on it?? I think I can get a copy if anyone wants it... (I know a guy that owns a "low volume" new and used cd shop.. he always has extra stuff like that laying around... either way...
Cheston.... I own all U2 cd's.. plus 3 different bootlegs/early tapes and 4 singles.. I've also got Joshua Tree, Under a Blood Red Sky (live), Unforgettable Fire and Zooropa on Vinyl.. yes thats right.. records .. and yes I own a turntable. I've got Joshua Tree and WAR on tape as well as the Batman Single (hold me, thrill me). I have rattle and hum and a few other appearances off of television and such.. I also taped the farmclub.com appearance last night.... FYI "BAD" the song they closed with.. is one of my fav U2 songs. Bono is amazing and I think the new cd will be too.. I'm doing everything in my power to make sure I shoot/cover that show and have backstage access.... Last time they hit KC they stayed for a week and shot a video as well.. cool stuff.
I must say watching the performance on farmclub was great.. they rocked out.. beautiful day sounded fresh and new yet "old school".. now Elevation was amazing.... reminded me of Rattle and Hum.. combined with Unforgettable fire/meets achtung baby all in one.. amazing soul with awesome musical licks behind it... Bono was Bono and looked like Bono and acted like Bono..... I can't wait to get that album tommorow......
Oh and I must admit.. Joshua Tree is the ONLY cd I own that NEVER gets rotated out of my car cd carryalong case...
PS I lost my POP Mart tour t-shirt somewhere... I'm pissed.. arghhh
