How is the Altima selling??

Is there any website that lists how specific models are selling?
All the ones I have seen so far are numbers for a whole brand.
The thing that disturbs me is the so far in LA I have seen:

2002 Camry: Lost the count
2002 Maxima: Around 4
2002 Altima: Z-E-R-O

No one wants the antidote?

what surprises me is that the Altima is more money than the Max, or at least the ones at our dealership are. I looked at them side by side and they are the same size. I liked how they looked except for the cheap looking leather and the weird gauge pod thingy. Its just two circles.

altima IS selling

The new 2002 altima for all those on the MAXIMA board who care ...is selling like hot cakes...

the 2.5s is byfar the volume leader with the 2.5 SL and 3.5 SE not far behind. I have sold three 3.5 SE altima's and 4 2.5s models in september with more orders comming for the much awaited 5-speed SE....

Yes the maxima sales are going to be affected, but not so far... with the refinments made this year to the maxima... xenon, heated wheel, better leather, available nav system, more HP, more tourque, ect their are more then a few reasons to purchase a new 2002 maxima...

just FYI from the front lines....

PS thanks to the five .org members who have intrusted me with their orders for 6-speed maximas... thank so much..

peace

That's good to hear, I was getting worried myself. I haven't seen ONE Altima in LA. Only seen 2 Maximas and lots of Camrys ..

Might be ugly to you, but there will still be more people buying Camry's than Altimas and Maximas combined each year. I think the new Camry looks fine...it's an evolution of the current Camry, which is a wonderful family sedan.

I do think one serious error for the Camry/ES platform is that the V6 has not been changed significantly. Toyota needs to drop the 220hp VVTi 3.0 liter into the Camry, not the old 192hp version.

Even though the Altima and the Camry started, perhaps, rolling away from dealerships since the mid Sept, I have seen a lot more 2002 Altimas than 2002 Camrys on the road. Probably, 10 to 1. Yes, I have seen only 1 02' Camry on the road so far.

Also, if I am not wrong, all models of Al should have pricing that undercut the Cam. So, I think that wiser consumers will weight against all these similar features between the two and, more important, the prices. Some stubborn consumers may buy Camrys based on its #1 selling status in the 'past'.

About look, it is only in the eyes of the beholders. I preferred the Altima's look.

Go Nissan!
