Carbon Fiber Hood??????

aite, so here's the thing... some of you guys might have remember reading my post about how my dad f*cked up my car a couple days ago... today my dad says he's going to replace all the parts that were damaged including the hood of the car. so my question is: where could i get a good quality carbon fiber hood a.s.a.p. and how much would it cost? if it costs less than the stock factory hood, then i could probably convince my dad into getting the carbon fiber hood. thanx in advance!

1) Search: http://forums.maxima.org/search.php

2) The only place right now that you can get it is from Fiber Images

3) Search: http://forums.maxima.org/search.php?

4) It should cost around $600. But don't quote me on it.

5) Search: http://forums.maxima.org/search.php?

6) You probably will get a regular hood faster than you could get a carbon fiber hood.

I just said the same thing. Where did my previous post go? Is it the case of the disappearing posts again?

I dunno but they don't look so hot

Dave has one on his black Max and it looks nice from a few feet back, but up close you notice a few manufactuer's errors.

1) You have to shave your stock grill, because the geniuses who molded this thing couldn't do their job right.
2) You can't use your hood shocks because it'll break the carbon fiber. Use wooden sticks instead.
3) The sides don't match up right and are too narrow.

Other than that, it's fine. I guess you can hunt down someone with weak hood struts and trade him. That'll make you both happy.

Re: I dunno but they don't look so hot

I love that "other than that, it's fine" Those are huge problems. It's like saying "other than the doors falling off and the steering not working, the car is fine". Some of the Honda guys say they're the best, but on their Toyota, Infiniti, and Nissan hoods (smaller markets) I'm just not impressed.

yeah, it's my sarcasm that gets me in trouble sometimes. Here it was all in good fun. No but seriously, I haven't seen the perfect carbon fiber hood yet. It does look neat and you lose like 30 lbs, but at such an inconvienent cost.

we'll see what leonard @ fiberimages has to say.
