Inquiring Wilwood people
I've had them installed for a few days and drove about half a mile on them. I'm wondering if you all had a rubbing noise when you first installed them. When the rotor turns on the driver's side, it makes a rubbing noise with the pads I think. I took the wheel off and the caliper is perfectly centered over the rotor, no metal to to metal noise. I looked at the pads and they are touching the rotor with a tad of force. The pistons on the calipers are compressed a bit, but I assume thats normal. I'm able to free spin the rotor by hand, but it stops as soon as I stop turning the rotor.
Also, the rotor's finish is wearing uneven. The outer part of the rotor is wear before the center, I assume that's normal. Last thing, to the people using speedbleeders, are they working out for you? I'm having a few leaks.

You'll get some noises for several hundred miles... <sigh>
The outer portion of the pad wears first, too, as you noticed... which also cause the rubbing sound... when the pad material is 'square', the noise will diminish.
I also had some brake squeel when approaching a complete stop for quite a while.
As long as the brakes do what they're supposed to, I wouldn't worry too much... There shouldn't be any huge 'clunks' heard, however. Just keep a close eye on them for the next week or so. Once they break in, most of the noises will go away.
